Walnut Tree Sanctuary at Camposampiero
The Walnut Tree Sanctuary at Camposampiero is a small but significant repository of art and devotion, erected in 1432 on the spot where the walnut tree that Antonio used to preach from was located. The brick structure, whose façade is adorned with a porch portal and pinnacles, was enriched in the first half of the 1500s with frescos that tell the tales of the miracles enacted by Saint Antonio, attributed to Girolamo Tessari also known as “Dal Santo” or From the Saint, and the altarpiece by Bonifiacio de’ Pitati of the Walnut Tree Sanctuary that depicts the preaching of Saint Antonio from the Walnut Tree.
