Ethnographic Museum at Stanghella

The Ethnographic Museum at Stanghella, through seven rooms, examines and shows the influence of human settlements on the territory from prehistory to the coming of agricultural mechanization. The ‘osteria’ (a sort of tavern), the first room visitors will see, gives the chance to see the old meeting place with the 17th-century barrels and tables. Then there is the rural workshops room (smiths, blacksmiths and carters) and two rooms displaying historical cartography items, one of whom showing the 16th-century, large-size ‘Retratto del Gorzone’ land map (8 X 3.5m). The ‘Rural Hall’ displays fascinating tools and objects of past times rural life, while the sixth room illustrates ancient colonization. The museum also hosts a library and an archive, with papers and parchments covering a period from 14th to 19th century.
