Archaeological Site of Via Catajo at Montegrotto Terme

Archaeological Site of Via Catajo at Montegrotto Terme: the ruins of a private country mansion (”villa rustica”), built in the second half of the 1st century B.C. and enlarged until the 2nd century A.D., have been discovered in a state-owned area at Turri. It is possible to recognize residential rooms, as well as structures dedicated to the processing and the storage of foodstuff. The ancient building emerged between 2004 and 2005, during construction work in the area; it was afterwards methodically excavated by the “Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici del Veneto”, between 2005 and 2007.
